Help us find loving, responsible homes for unwanted pets.
It is vital for us as a community to address the tough subject of animal welfare and end the unnecessary euthanasia of at-risk pets. Our region as a whole is filled with individuals who are passionate about saving homeless dogs and cats.
Our motivation is belief in our mission. We care deeply about the no-kill approach to reduce needless suffering and promote adoption. If you are inspired and share our concerns, please, please, we need your voice to join ours in spreading awareness to facilitate positive change.
And change is what NNPP has in mind: the first no-kill animal shelter in our region.
This is a call to action. To succeed, we need the backing and support of all fellow animal lovers in the Northern Neck and beyond.
In today’s world of diminished government funding, it falls to nonprofits to fill the gap and provide essential services. This is true in education, social programs, housing, and services for disadvantaged populations.
And it is abundantly true for animal welfare and rescue causes.
The facts are clear: the Humane Society of the United States estimates the number of American public animal shelters at 3,500 while nonprofit rescue groups and animal sanctuaries stand at 10,000. Nonprofits hold the lead role in the compassionate and humane care of our nation’s companion animals.
Building a new no-kill facility is an expensive undertaking with an estimated $3,000,000 price tag to be raised through gifts, donations, and grants. So if you, like us, consider your pets as family members, please support this effort.
Our immediate priority to fund the professional services of an experienced shelter architect to be our partner in shaping the future. NNPP is following all professional procurement protocols and a national search to hire the best firm at the best price for our needs.
But that is just the start.
Beyond the base building cost and architectural fees, there are engineered septic systems and a well. Soil tests, surveys, and foundation systems have to be completed. And shelter-specific acoustic, air handling and ventilation systems, plumbing, electrical, and durable sanitary finishes are a must. Veterinarian equipment, computers, office furnishings, cages, pens, and crates plus construction contingency rounds out the picture.
There are many ways to help NNPP achieve our mutual dream including membership, memorial and honorary gifts, business sponsorships, private donations, stock donation, gifts of property, planned legacy giving, and challenge gifts.
NNPP will be honored to offer naming opportunities for those generous donors who wish to leave a lasting legacy. Please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to customize a naming opportunity for you.
As advocates for those who cannot speak for themselves, can we count on your support?
Your gift in any amount is deeply appreciated and our gratitude is without measure. And the animals who are given a second chance will thank you tenfold.
